Julie Chen Moonves will host the popular reality show that has been a summer sensation Big Brother. The show will return to CBS on 5 August for the third season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, in which she served as both moderator as well as host. She was a writer before becoming host, however her true love of writing was for the written word. In fact, it won the show an Emmy. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show has earned her an additional Emmy. She was co-hosting CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 and 2010. Her previous roles included anchoring CBS Morning News and The Early Show. She was dispatched to Cairo following the 9/11 attacks and gave an intimate and fascinating discussion with the father who was the main hijacker. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Queen Rania of Jordan as well as former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program, profiling celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves worked as an anchor and reporter at the CBS-owned WCBS-TV station that was based in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). She was a producer for ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the affiliate news service of the network in the late 1990s, as well as an assistant desk in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her final year at the University of Southern California.
